Heed O’ Lord

Heed O’ Lord… heed O’ Lord…
He whose graces are not known beyond Him
Heed O’ Lord… heed O’ Lord…
Give those pilgrims a safe path to Kathom

I start this prayer, O’ my Lord, as I hear a mother’s scream
As her child now lives in but a fragment of a dream
I see him raised between worlds, settled beside Heaven’s stream
And I see him presenting his soul to Imam Kathom

He’s implored… he’s implored…
That Kathom takes what he wishes of him
Heed O’ Lord… heed O’ Lord…
Give those pilgrims a safe path to Kathom

I raise my hands O’ my Lord, with my concerns a whisper
Ashamed to raise this whisper above a weeping mother
Yet in my awe, I observe this fallen martyr’s brother
Pick up a flag, and leave his house whilst raising this banner

He’s adored… he’s adored…
By his mother, yet it won’t bother him
Heed O’ Lord… heed O’ Lord…
Give those pilgrims a safe path to Kathom

* * *

I start this prayer O’ my Lord because I feel hatred
I feel it upon the path to Al-Kathom’s grave weighted
Envious eyes watch pilgrims as with Kathom they’re fated
They un-sheath swords and murder with the bombs they’ve created

And each sword… And each sword…
Kills mothers, fathers, children beside him
Heed O’ Lord… heed O’ Lord…
Give those pilgrims a safe path to Kathom

* * *

Yet in my awe, O’ my Lord, I observe such resilience
When the dead fall, does not shake the undead’s obedience
And still they come with his love breathed in their mind and conscience
For the undead and the dead are drawn by Kathom’s brilliance

They’re assured… they’re assured…
In death or life, they’re comforted by him
Heed O’ Lord… heed O’ Lord…
Give those pilgrims a safe path to Kathom

* * *

And so they come, O’ my Lord, in mourning of his tale
Risking their lives, they breathe in, unsure if they’d exhale
Dressed up in black, the scorching heat proudly they inhale
Striking their backs with chains, their feet both blistered and pale

The tears poured… the tears poured…
Fall as seeds that blossom in praise of him
Heed O’ Lord… heed O’ Lord…
Give those pilgrims a safe path to Kathom

* * *

I observe him, O’ my Lord, weeping inside a jail
I ask you Lord remove between them and him time’s veil
Let Al-Kathom see millions that now beside him wail
And let Harun see who shall die and who shall prevail

He has soared… he has soared…
Now not even the time can jail him
Heed O’ Lord… heed O’ Lord…
Give those pilgrims a safe path to Kathom

* * *

O’ Lord I watch Al-Kathom stand and welcome all his guests
As your angels rub their feet, before kissing their scarred chests
And one by one, he listens and he answers their requests
Even Mehdi comes asking him to begin his conquests

Their reward… their reward…
Will greet them when they return toward Him
Heed O’ Lord… heed O’ Lord…
Give those pilgrims a safe path to Kathom
