When the Body Dies

In our eyes it is written… we are all Ali’s children
And when the body, it dies… for Ali the heart it cries… we are all Ali’s children

O’ Haider we’re your children… and in your name I begin… to tell you of death O’ Karrar
Whenever death calls our name… just like when to you we came… we yearn for you as our saviour
For you we’ve lived and we’ve died… just like in life, we relied… on you as our guide and helper
When death takes us, intercede… let the angels on us read… that Haider is our hereafter
Whenever we had a wish… or drowned within our anguish… we called for our interceeder
When into our sins we drown… turns into a golden crown… the love for Mohammed’s brother

Your love crowned our existence… our death seeks your assistance
On you, the soul, it relies… for Ali the heart it cries… we are all Ali’s children

* * *

O’ Haider in life you’re hope… when climbing the steepest slope… we call your name to be stronger
Your name, it brings such a strength… that no road is long in length… it tells us to give up, never
When across mountains we crawl… or from mountain’s peaks we fall… when it is our darkest hour
O’ Haider it’s in our blood… that we call for our beloved… you never fail to answer
We were taught from our cradles… the Ali brings miracles… and teach the son would the mother
Haider’s the father of dust… your wishes to him entrust… he loves every son and daughter

The father of dust we’d call… knowing he’s father of all
Just as our tears his hand dries… for Ali the heart it cries… we are all Ali’s children

* * *

O’ Haider we have a pride… and in this pride we reside… it’s in each servant and lover
That Haider as first we chose… for you the world we’d oppose… O’ Haider it is an honour
Our cradles could not deny… we’re born with our heads held high… a blessing from our Creator
Ali’s name on our foreheads… Haider’s in the soul embeds… a pride that no-one could hinder
In the heart your flag it flies… every evil it defies… and none can tear down its banner
From cradle until our death… from the first to the last breath… “Ali’s the only successor”

This pride is fused in our blood… it transcends all that we’ve loved
Till death as a flag it flies… for Ali the heart it cries… we are all Ali’s children

* * *

A love that burns like a flame… fuels it, their envy and blame… never does it fall or falter
Is it our fault he’s held dear… to blame Haider, none would dare… when in one hand he held Badr
Would it be that for this oath… from every corner of Earth… I’m labelled a “disbeliever”?
Regardless, they’ve understood… if alone on Earth I stood… my belief won’t fall nor wither
Give me in one hand, the world… the other, limitless gold… and by God I would choose neither
Nothing challenges the worth… of a love I’ve had since birth… and nothing can come close either

The world’s aware of my place… its tattooed upon my face
And in death with it I’ll rise… for Ali, the heart it cries… we are all Ali’s children

* * *

O’ Haider I have a dream… and it flows in my bloodstream… in every grief, I remember
I recall a golden dome… and beneath it, lies the home… of the prince of each believer
With death’s embrace, know I wish… in that moment of anguish… I’d recall a moment tender
Standing alone at your door… with my eye, you, I adore… an orphan beside his father
O’ Haider in death’s moments… a picture my mind presents… best said by the pen of Jaber
“When will I see your distress… by your door in my sadness… I’ve missed seeing you O’ Haider”

In death, it’s drawn on my eyes… seeing you with my demise
And what a greater demise… for Ali, the heart it cries… we are all Ali’s children
