When we say Ya Hussain the universe shakes
The stars; the planets; the apparent and hidden
When we say Ya Hussain the tyrant’s throne shudders
Yazids that are long gone in their graves awaken
When we say Ya Hussain the blood of evil boils
As freedom is hated by those who build prisons
When we say Ya Hussain the Earth itself lays flat
No doors remain locked for us and all doors open
When we say Ya Hussain, Hussain himself hears us
And looks with loving eyes, so proud of his children
When we say Ya Hussain, Abbas with no hands
Builds houses for those whose houses are in ruin
When we say Ya Hussain, Imam Sajjad prostrates
O’ Lord cure their sick and let their good health return
When we say Ya Hussain, the shadow of Zainab
Sends her greetings and puts a veil on our women
When we say Ya Hussain it is not disbelief
Belief is belief when you believe in Ya Hussain
There would be no Islam, there would be no Quran
There would be no house of God and no prostration
If Hussain did not stand alone in Karbala
In nowhere with no-one with nothing to help him
There would be no freedom and there would be no free
If Hussain had not given all that he’d given
So dare you tell me Ya Hussain is not Islam?
If there’s no Ya Hussain, there is no religion
There are two types of people, and there are only two types
What’s the point, why say it? – the first type of person
It’s disbelief, it’s what the apostates say
It’s idol worship; it’s shirk; it’s innovation
Then there’s the second type, when he hears Ya Hussain
It’s as if he’s reborn, a mountain unshaken
He remembers God and he remembers Islam
And because of Hussain, he bows in submission
It’s not idol worship, your worship is idle
If this Ya Hussain in your blood isn’t written
Never think Ya Hussain takes you away from God
God loves those who love Hussain, won’t you ever learn?
So I say Ya Hussain and I’ll say it till my death
My soul won’t leave my body with faith that’s shaken
And if I chose my last words and today I died
Ya Hussain all I want is your intercession
